Farm League (9 Year-Olds)
The purpose of this program is for the players to have fun playing baseball while learning proper baseball fundamentals. Individual statistics and team records should not be the overriding goals.
The Little League "Official Regulations and Playing Rules Rule" book governs all playing rules, except where superseded by the following:
In the Farm League, players pitch and the standard nine positions are followed. Trained volunteer umpires enforce a combination of rules put forward by the charter organization and the Local Board.
Parent/players can expect 1-2 games per week and one practice per week.
Parents can expect that the League will provide shirts, colored socks and hats and parents can expect to purchase a baseball glove/mitt, white pants and plastic baseball spikes.
Games are typically played at Oakbourne Park on E. Pleasant Grove Road in Westtown Township with an occasional game at Carman Field on Westtown Road in Westtown/West Chester.
- We have adopted a continuous batting order (rule 4.04).
- Each half inning is completed after 10 batters have batted or three outs have occurred, whichever comes first.
- Pitchers will only be allowed to pitch 75 pitches per day with a minimum three days off before being allowed to pitch again. The Board is considering further rules to ensure that several players get a chance to pitch.
- There is a maximum one (1) bunt per player per game.
- There is a maximum two (2) bunts per team per inning.
Both teams are in charge of field set-up, which is to include:
- Layout of foul lines and batter's box;
- Raking of base paths, batter's box, skin infield areas and pitchers mound;
- Placing of bases and removal of them at the conclusion of the game;
- Each team is to supply one (1) game baseball;
- Raking the field after the conclusion of the game;
- Ensuring all trash is removed from the dugouts and placed in the proper containers.
- In case of inclement weather during the day, both managers should be at the field early to prep it for the game.
General Guidelines
- It is expected that all Players receive equal playing time with at least one inning in an infield position.
- The games will consist of 6 full innings regardless of score.

- Both managers at the field decide rain-outs. Every effort should be made to get the game in. Decisions should be made at the field unless a downpour is occurring.
