Did not have enough baseball this spring and summer?  The FALL Ball season begins the Sunday after Labor Day and continues to the last Sunday in October with about 8 games.  Rainouts could happen and managers may reschedule if fields are available and both teams agree to reschedule.

All games are played on Sunday beginning at 1pm or 3:30pm with a 2 hour limit. Home teams manager provided the plate umpire. We try and schedule ESLL games around the Eagles games if possible. Most teams usually practice one day during the week.  This is a District 28 Program and games are played with the other ESLL teams and District League teams.  Directions to other leagues fields can be obtained by going to the District 28 website and will be provided by team managers.

Jack Heilman (jackheilman@me.com), Perry Cozzone (pcozzone@verizon.net) and Scott Davis (scottpauldavis@aol.com ) are in charge of the ESLL Fall Baseball Program and select the team managers. Since this is also a District wide program, there  is also a district 28 person that schedules the games based on ESLL criteria.

Parents can get involved by helping at practices & games and in any way the manager requires help. Please contact Jack Heilman if you are interested in managing or coaching.

Fall baseball rules are very flexible, free subs, continues batting order, district rule of pitchers throwing no more than 3 innings per week (ESLL had a 2 inning max), if team does not have 9 players they can borrow players from the other team.  There are no standings, trophies, awards, playoffs, etc and some managers do not even keep score.

The Fall Ball players will be assigned to teams to even out the talent on all the teams and the teams will be given shirts and hats. If a spring manager wants a fall ball team then his returning players will be assigned to his team.  Fall Ball helps build baseball skills for all ages.   "Age as of 2010 spring playing season"

Since this is Fall Baseball, the league understands that players playing other sports should attend baseball practices and games if it does not conflict with their other sports. This means they might not be able to attend any practices and maybe just a few games and that is OK.  Fall Baseball is great for players who want to play baseball and prepare for their 2011 major league tryouts or they just want to get better with more time on the field with others like them and great coaching.  No matter the age, Fall Baseball is fun and will help build skills.

There probably will be ten teams.  If you are interested in sponsoring a team and getting your name on the shirts, please contact David Moldoff at dmoldoff@academyone.com for sponsorship opportunities.  The team distribution will look something like this depending on how many children are expected to register:

2 - 3  teams      8 year old

1 team              12 year old
